INTRODUCTION
Charlotte Rampling married Jean-Michel Jarre on the 8th October 1976. Since her career started back in 1965, she has starred in a remarkable number of films. It is no surprise then with her hectic lifestyle that in 1995-1996 she was reported to have visited a hospital in London, England with regards to a mild breakdown.
Also Charlotte has admitted publicly that her husband, Jean-Michel Jarre (48) has been seeing a mistress. Rumours are riffe on the Internet and in local papers, but Charlotte (in public at least) seems to be coping very well.
Charlotte has recently finished filming Wings of the Dove which should premiere later this year and it is said that Charlotte's performance is very exciting, we shall see. But, if it is anything like some of her other films then it should be something to put on your video list when it is available.

Well, i'd like to say I knew, but I can only speculate. But here's what I think may happen - it's only my opinion though, so please do not take offence.
1. - Charlotte's Films: Going by Charlotte's extensive past, I think that Charlotte fans have nothing to worry about as far as Charlotte quiting the movie business. Maybe she will start to take lower key roles, but then again maybe not, maybe this is just the start of a new era for Charlotte film career? Lets hope so ...
2. - The Marriage: This is private between the two parties and I do not wish to pry into their business, but I feel that the 'time apart' will be for the best. Hell, they've been together for over 20 years so I suspect they need a small break to pursue their own interests from an artistic level. I should imagine they'd be back together though. But even if they don't manage to sort things out (which is unlikely - see the Charlotte interview) then i'd like to wish them both happiness in whatever agreement they come to.
UPDATE on Paragraph Item 2. Since I originally wrote this, Jean-Michel and Charlotte have indeed divorced, but remain very good friends even today. |
