Welcome to Planet Oxygene - hosted on it's own server.

Just as Planet Oxygene was getting ready to launch fully, we were presented with the un-missable opportunity of hosting the Website on our own dedicated Apache server. This is significant for many reasons but it did mean we had to put back the final launch of the Website slightly so that we could reconfigure our scripts to take advantage of the new environment.

Below are just some of the benefits:

• We will be able to take advantage of the backbone we are now connected to - meaning faster access for everyone - and above all more reliability.


• Our mail service is now fully functional with POP3, SMTP and IMAP services free of charge to members who sign up for this service (Membership is also free) and this will be made availble once our members area is operational again shortly.


• MySQL database system - meaning lightning fast Access to information stored in a database, couple this with PHP and there is the potential for many powerful developments.


• Hosting. We shall shortly be offering special deals for Jean-Michel Jarre Website owners (and fans of Jean-Michel Jarre) who wish to host their websites with the full power of the Apache web server. This will mean you have full control over your Website - from Telnet and OpenSSH to MySQL, PHP, ASP, CGI-PERL, FP2000 Extensions, fully customizable e-mail accounts, FTP server with anonymous access for your users and that is just the beginning. Our server is fully loaded with the latest in Internet technology and you can be assured no ad banners whatsoever. But above all, we aim to bring the best content related to Jean-Michel Jarre to you with leading edge technology. We aim to take full advantage of Broadband but will fully support 56k modem connections too as we realize not everyone has high speed Internet just yet.
